My Experience with children: Mother of two grown children will give you lots of experience along the way. While going to trade school I was a toddler day care teacher.... after that I had a day care in my home for children with morning kindergarten classes. I worked in a pediatrician office as a medical assistant for sometime. As the children grew I caught: Can we all say "the super mom disease" I loved doing things with my kids & their friends, when they were wee ones, tweens and teenagers. I was the room mom for both kids for lots of years, Girl & Boy scout leader, our home was always the neighborhood hang out during all years of their life... Zaney and teenagers always hit it off just fine...even if their to cool for a clown :) ..... they like just hanging out and talking with Lainie.
How I became a clown-In 2005 I went to a Balloon camp for balloon decor and met a really cool balloon twister named "Stretch" he was teaching balloon twisting and he talked about clowning it sounded like so much fun. I was already doing singing telegrams and was having a blast with that. We moved to Las Vegas and I wanted to re-invent the business. So I added clowning to my already balloon decor/singing telegram business. Who knew that clowningwould take over? Now I only do family entertainment stuff and decorating/telegrams are no more. I love clowning!
Clowning education & experience-"Zaney Lainie" aka Lainie is experienced, well educated and very professional at what she does. In 2011 I will be attending 4 different clown conventions, puppet & other camps... I love to learn the newest trends and practice my skills with some of the best family entertainers out there. My goal is to be the best clown I can be for myself and the folks around me.

aka's: Lainie (family nickname) or Zaney Lainie the clown depends on my mood (SPS---split personality syndrome: aaaah!! joke, ok!!!! )
Where do I live: Las Vegas, Nevada as of October 2005. Before that, in the land of corn and the home of Abe Lincoln. Can you guess! Yeah!!! you got it.... Illinois, Central Illinois in a town of 10,000 called Taylorville. I lived there for 7 years.... yep the big 7 (small town living) good place for children to grow up. Before that the big St. Louis, Missouri.... born and raised love that city... always will be home sweet home to me!!!!!
Lainie Trivia: Did you know that Lainie was born in the back seat of a car & her grandma caught her as she came out.... Hey good catch grandma and thanks for not dropping me (or did she?).... My mom said she was in labor with me for 30 minutes, man when this turkey was done, she was done. And top of all that, it was 3* below zero outside..... brrrrr I am amazed I didn't have icicles hanging off my bum.
Married: yes, to a real "Mello Guy" ha!!! get it (Hint: our last name is Mello, ha!).... the bestest husband a girl could ever have... He puts up with my weirdness, great dad, my best friend.... what a guy, he's a keeper....
Kids: Kinda, there all grown up now..... I suffer from empty nest syndrome, also.... Our son is 27, name is Anthony (aka Tony) a very handsome young man. Tony is studying nursing in Illinois & loves music he can play 7 instruments. what a great guy and a wonderful person. Then there is our daughter Jessica she is 24 (aka Jesse) almost a duplicate of her mommy except she is missing the weird part..... thank goodness! What a hoot to be around. She is an artsy girl, just graduated college in Graphic Design.... You know what that means.... Lainie soon will get freebies, yeah!!!!
Pets: Yes, 3 fur babies!! We have the wild and crazy little girl pug named Opus now 2 year old. In August of "08" a sweet little kitty found us "Mia Mello" and now we have a cute white fluffy Chow Chow pup named "Mao Tai" Russ calls here the white devil....
Hobbies: A few let's see I basketweave, I sculpt with clay, have tons of scrapbooking stuff, use to make candles & bath products, I can sew and paint..... & definetly good at making messes..... Oh!!! And a balloon-a-maniac...... I LOVE balloons..... adding to the list I recently just started trying to make my own puppets, how fun is that :)
Some other points of interest: Love to travel and see other countries and cultures, it is a lot of fun... I like to cook (bake), especially dog treats for the fur children. HUGE!!! Hockey fan, St. Louis all the way,baby....Let's go BLUES!!! Don't forget the Cardinals, too..... GO CARDS!!!!! Since moving to Vegas we now go Jeeping (rock crawling) in the mountains surrounding our city.... we have a lot of fun doing this.
